Attributes determine the number of dice a character has when they need to instinctually or naturally avoid danger or notice something. (When it is too late to take action). Values range from 0 to 3. They are not used when players take an action, but a GM can ask a player to make an action check using an attribute instead of a skill due to several possible questions. For example:
- Insight: Avoid trouble from deception or misunderstanding.
- Would a character remember or piece together bits of information?
- Perception: Avoid trouble from ambushes and surprises.
- Would a character notice specific details in the environment or about another character?
- Physique: Avoid trouble from physical harm or hindrance.
- Would a character be able to resist a physical effect, such as a push or poison?
- Would a character be able to endure through hardship, such as holding their breath or holding up a heavy gate for a long time?
- Resolve: Avoid trouble from mental strain, manipulation, or possession.
- Would a character resist the mental stress of an event?
- Can a character avoid a specific temptation?
