Matter Splices

The Golems; The Bizarre;

Those who manipulate the various states and types of matters slowly meld with the materials they manipulate, becoming golems with stone like skin and vaporous hair.

Tier 1 Splices: The caster’s skin gains a light coating, almost like scales, of the same kind of material they have manipulated. When an object of the same material touches the coating, it will slowly merge into the skin. After a minute the object will become impossible to remove without magic or harmful surgery.

Tier 2 Splices: Though once a light coating, the material now replaces the actual skin, though with enough malleability and strength to keep the most of the body’s original shape and flexibility. The material ether provides a natural +1 armor but a -1 to Agility Ability Checks, or a +1 to Agility Ability Checks but a -1 to armor (if armor would be negative then the character instead takes -1 health box). The Ability Check bonus/penalty only applies when the affected body part is subject in a roll.

When active, the splice attracts close objects (within 10ft) of the same material, pulling them lightly towards the mage (strength of -1).

Tier 3 Splices: The splice has to seeped down to the bone, though doing so does not appear to affect any internal functions.

When active, the splice attracts nearby objects of the same composition with a strength of 2 and nearby range. More importantly however, the material begins to revert to its basic properties and manipulating affected parts of the body requires active concentration.

Tier 4 Splices: The material once coating the body has now replaced the body part completely, and concentration is required to use the body part, though it may still be dragged along.

Once active, the splice attracts Nearby and Far Away objects of the same material, pulling them towards the mage as though with a strength of 3. The splice also slowly spreads from the limb onto any object touching it, coating that object with the same material. The coating spreads around 5ft every 10 seconds. Only gaseous compositions will attempt to spread into the air.
